our fosters - sasha - fostered 09.01.07

09.01.07 - Otherwise known as "the fuzzie girl", Sasha had quite a travel day today and yesterday. She was exited from South Los Angeles Shelter yesterday through the combined efforts of many many people (thank you hugely to Rita, Bethanne and Kelly - amongst others whose names I do not know). She traveled to Irvine, then to Menifee, then to Del Mar, and finally to my home tonight.
Oh my GOD, if you haven't met her, you have lost out! She was in danger at the shelter because she had come in with a broken leg - which was then incorrectly set. Not acceptable by me. Despite her broken limb, this is a spunky, social, and absolutely adorable little girl. I cannot stop kissing her little fuzzie head. She's about 1/3 of the size that I thought she was - teeny little baby. I'm thinking that she's a spaniel mix of some sort, despite her very shepherdy look. Based on her teeth, I'm guessing she's about 3-4 months old and will probably stay very petite. She instantly adapted to my crazy home. I had a group of people, including a toddler, over when we got home she acted as if she was the natural hostess in the home. Then, when she was introduced to some of my animal family (Borrego - 4 year old golden, Penny - 6 month old cattle dog foster, Midnight - 2 year old lab mix, Tobee - 5 year old 20 lb black cat) she jumped right in to puppy mode and played and played - setting her own boundaries and adapting to their play styles, not a second thought to the thumping cast that seemed to get in the way.
I have not fundraised at all for this little girl but will be setting up an appointment tomorrow with my personal vet to have her leg checked out to ensure that she was set and cast correctly and what the prognosis is for full recovery. I will run all donations through my connections at PBRSD - http://www.pitbullrescuesandiego.com/help/donate.htm so that they can be tax deductible. Please specify that you are donating for Sasha, if you choose to donate towards her care.
